Children's Running Opportunites
The LRRC encourages children's running and has an LRRC Kid's Race Series, where children receive a special award. All children have to do is participate in 3 of the 4 following events.
- LRRC Summer Track Series
- Amazing Mile
- John A. Stephenson Youth Run
- CASA Superhero Run
The LRRC wants to esnure that children run safely and have adopted the following limits based on guidance provided by the Cleveland Clinic and the Road Runners Club of America (RRCA)

The 32nd annual John A. Stephenson Youth Run will be held in October at Riverside Park. This event is third in the LRRC Kid's Race Series.
The Amazing Mile Childrens' Run will be held in the evening on Friday, September 26, 2025. This is the second event in the LRRC Kid's Race Series.
The LRRC Summer Track Series offers kid's races every Tuesday in June at the University of Lynchburg starting at 6:30 pm. Participation in this event counts towards the LRRC Kids's Race Series.
The CASA Superhero Run offers a 5K run for adults and older children and a 1 mile run for younger children. This is the last event in the LRRC Kid's Race Series.
